2014 DOMINATE 5K

October 2014, Nate Houle was diagnosed with T3-4 cancer in his maxilary sinus.  This is something that usually shows up in 70+ yr old men who have smoked their whole lives.  Not a healthy 29 year old.

In the coming months, Nate will go through surgeries to remove and reconstruct the cancerous areas in his face.  He will more than likely lose his left eye along with the muscles and tissue surrounding it, his cheek bone, part of his jaw, and the teeth on the top left side of his mouth.  After surgeries are completed, Nate will go through chemotherapy and radiation.

Nate Houle was both my teammate and then later my coach at SUU. On Nov. 15th there is a 5K just South of Lone Peak High School and go around the pond just west of the school.  All the money raised during the race will go directly to him and his little family of 3. They have prizes for the top 3 male and female runners, and lots of goodies in your race bag! You'll get a race shirt, arm warmers, and a team domiNATE bracelet! It's our way of saying thank you to you for your support!

In support of this great cause I am encourage all athletes to come an participate and treat this 5k as our prefootlocker race. I also welcome any family members who would like to, to also participate- Come run or walk, or, just come out and support!

Help us #DomiNATE this thing!
